About Us

Our Story: A Lifelong Commitment to Healing

The story of NAPS & Rescues begins with the lifelong dedication of its founder, Dr. Carol Yeisley. For many years, long before our organization had a name, Dr. Yeisley personally funded and provided veterinary services to countless animals in need. Her commitment took her everywhere from spay/neuter clinics on Native American reservations to wildlife rehabilitation centers in Pennsylvania, where she was a licensed rehabilitator specializing in birds of prey.

A Growing Need in a New Home

After relocating to Arizona in 2015, Dr. Yeisley began collaborating with local shelters and rescue groups. She quickly saw a critical gap: a growing number of animals required extensive and costly medical care that stretched these organizations beyond their limits. As the number of animals needing help grew, so did the financial burden.

The Foundation of NAPS & Rescues

To create a more sustainable way to fund this vital work, Dr. Yeisley and her supporters established NAPS & Rescues as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2017. The mission was clear: to provide the resources and funding necessary for the complex medical cases that shelters and rescues couldn’t handle alone.

Our Mission in Action Today

Today, NAPS & Rescues has expanded its work beyond emergency medical care. Our programs include:

•Equine Rehabilitation: We rescue, rehabilitate, and retrain horses, with many finding new life as successful show horses and beloved companions.

•Community Education: We partner with youth organizations like 4-H and FFA to teach the next generation about responsible animal care.

•Animal-Assisted Therapy: We utilize rescued and adopted animals to provide comfort and support to individuals with special needs and PTSD.

As we continue our partnership with area shelters and our specialized programs, our financial needs grow. The rising cost of medicine and supplies makes your support more critical than ever. We are deeply grateful for every contribution and for the community of supporters who make our work possible.
